比如，在公众面前掏耳、挖鼻，甚至抠脚丫；听他人讲话时，东张西望，不屑一顾；上公交车时，蜂拥而上，争抢座位，甚至大动干戈；在公共场所随地吐痰，乱扔垃圾，在马路边便溺。2004年10月6日的《北京广播电视报》就报道说：木樨地科技会堂东边的马路边就成了出租车司机的露天厕所，以致于隔百十来米就能闻着味儿，居民意见很大。

居民意见不可能不大，大白天，光天化日之下，没遮没栏的在马路边上说方便就方便，的确不文明。便溺者是方便了，但过往的行人就不方便了，不但行人不方便，假若让外国人看见了，还不会耻笑我们整个中华民族的素质低，因为你的方便让整个民族受歧视，受牵连，成何体统？对得起养育你成长的祖国母亲？。
